    A series of over 700 islands located between the United States and Cuba, parts of the Bahamas have been repeatedly affected by serious hurricanes.
    The most hurricane-prone region of the Bahamas is the Andros Island, located South of Nassau.

    Area 13,940 km2
    Terrain Long, flat coral formations with some low rounded hills
    Population 301,790 (2005)
