Mr.
Herbert Lewis is the Group Human Resource and Industrial Relations
Manager of Lascelles DeMercado and Company Limited. He is
the Immediate Past President of the Jamaica Employers’
Federation, Chairman of its Industrial Relations Committee
and a founding member of that organization’s Mutual
Assistance Fund. He has represented the Jamaica Employers’
Federation at a number of regional and international conferences
and currently serves as a Vice President of the Caribbean
Employers’ Confederation. He is a former Executive Member
of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica).
Mr. Lewis is a former Chief Labour Officer of the Ministry
of Labour and is now a member of the Labour Advisory Committee
and the National Productivity Council. He is also a Board
Member of the National Housing Trust, a member of the National
Planning Council and the Mediation Pilot Steering Committee
(a joint project of the Government of Canada and the Government
of Jamaica.
He is a Board Member of Placement and Career Services, Member
of Friends of Placement and Career Services, and a member
of the Mentorship Programme, University of the West Indies.
He serves as an Advisory Board Member to the College of Business
and Information Service at Northern Caribbean University.
He has also served as Board Member of St. Georges College
and member of St. Georges College Endowment Fund Board.
Mr. Lewis was educated at Excelsior College, University of
the West Indies and the International Institute for Labour
Studies, Geneva.
He was awarded the National Honour of the Order of Distinction
for his services in the field of Industrial Relations.
He is a lector, Usher and Eucharistic Minister at Stella
Maris Catholic Church. |
