Professor
Errol Miller is a Professor of Teacher Education at the Institute
of Education, at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.
He was a former Principal of Mico Teacher’s College,
Past President of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association,
Former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and
Former Independent Senator in the Jamaican Parliament.
He has been chairman and member of several boards related
to public service in Jamaica and the Caribbean including Chairman
of the Electoral Advisory Committee. In addition, he has been
Guest and Keynote Speaker at numerous conferences and public
occasions in the Caribbean and internationally.
He has also been recipient of a number of awards and honours
for contribution to education and public service in the Caribbean
including two Fullbright Fellows for Senior Academics to Universities
in the United States, Jamaican national honours, Commander
of the Order of Distinction and Order of Jamaica, the University
of the West Indies’, Vice Chancellor’s Award for
Excellence and the Albert Shanker Education Award for 2004
from Education International. He is also an External Examiner
for several universities in the Commonwealth.
Professor Miller is the author of ten books, chapters of
books and consultancy reports and numerous papers in academic
journals.
