Dr.
Ronald Robinson is a graduate of the University of the West
Indies, Mona Campus where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in
Biochemistry and his Ph.D in Bioinorganic/Physical Chemistry.
He is currently the Director of the Pre-University School.
He has been actively involved outside the field of academia.
At the UWI Mona Campus he served as Hall Chairman of Taylor
Hall, Student Representative on the Matriculation Board, and
on the Careers and Placement Committee. He was also elected
as Vice President of the Mona Association of Post Graduate
Students. During the period 1998 to 1999, he served as a Research
Assistant in the Office of Administration and Special Initiatives,
University Centre, Mona Campus.
Dr. Robinson is also involved in the political process being
a member of the Central Executive and Standing Committees
of the Jamaica Labour Party and is one of the founding members
of Generation 2000 (G2K). He is also the immediate Past President
of that organization.
A pure scientist by nature, Dr. Robinson has over time been
deeply involved in the field of education policy administration,
and is a member of the National Council on Education (NCE),
where he is the Jamaica Labour Party’s representative.
His interests and activities are social work, nation building
and he is committed to the improvement of education in Jamaica.
