
Mr. Edmund Curtis Bartlett (Ed) is a Company Director and
President, Moving Media Jamaica Ltd. He has been a Marketing
Consultant since 1969 and has held positions such as Senior
Accountant, Revere Alumina Jamaica Ltd and Marketing Sales
Manager, Texaco Caribbean Inc.
Mr. Bartlett is the Member of Parliament for East Central
St James, Opposition Spokesman for Tourism, Chairman, Ways
and Means Committee and Member of the Electoral Advisory Committee.
He has held several senior positions in the Jamaica Labour
Party which included Deputy Leader and General Secretary.
Mr. Bartlett was the Minister of Youth and Community Development,
1983- 1993 and the Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting
and Culture, 1980-1983. A former Senator, he was also the
Vice President, World Conference on Cultural Policies in 1982.
He is a former member of the Lions Club of Savanna-La-Mar
and Jaycees, Montego Bay Chapter and is the Patron/ Founder
of Jamaica Foundation for Children.
Born in Westmoreland, he is the son of Alexander Rudulf Bartlett,
farmer, and Olive Lawson-Bartlett. Mr. Bartlett was educated
at the St. Elizabeth Technical High School and obtained his
BSc from the University of the West Indies. His denomination
is Church of God and his interests include cricket, dominoes,
table tennis and dancing.
