Ian Boxill

Ian Boxill

Ian Boxill is Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department, Sociology, Psychology and Social Work, UWI, Mona. He also teaches in the M.Sc Tourism and Hospitality programme in the Department of Management Studies, UWI, Mona. He has researched and published extensively in the areas of tourism and development and the sociology of tourism in the Caribbean and Latin America. The co-editor of three books on tourism in the Caribbean and Latin, American, he has was a consultant on the Jamaica tourism master plan and has recently completed a study of Tourism and HIV/AIDS in Jamaica and The Bahamas. Dr Boxill is also a consultant with Ministry of Health, Ocho Rios on a study of high risk sexual behaviour in the resort and surrounding areas, using PLACE methodology.
