Mr.
Allen M. Chastanet, Owner and Managing Director of Coco Resorts,
is responsible for the day-to-day operations and all marketing
and sales efforts of the Caribbean's newest properties, in
Rodney Bay, St. Lucia.
From 1995 to 2003, he served as Air Jamaica's Vice President
of Marketing and Sales. Before joining the airline, he was
the Director of Sales and Marketing for Island Outpost and
its 11 hotels in Miami's South Beach, Jamaica and the Caribbean.
He also served as the Director of Tourism for his native St.
Lucia, where he was credited with bringing the island into
the forefront of the Caribbean's tourism industry.
Mr. Chastanet is the Second Vice President of the Caribbean
Hotel Association (CHA) and currently serves as Chairman of
CHA’s Advocacy Committee. He is on the Board of Directors
of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Cricket
World Cup 2007 and is a member of the International Advisory
Council of Counterpart International, the Washington D.C.-
based non-profit development organisation.
In 2001, Mr. Chastanet was named Travel Agent Magazine's "Caribbean
Destination Person of the Year."
Headquartered in Castries, St. Lucia, he holds a Bachelor
of Arts degree and a Masters degree, both in economics, from
Bishops University in Quebec and American University in Washington
D.C., respectivel
