Anthony Harriott is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of
Government at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.
He has written several articles and reports on crime, crime
control, and policing in the Caribbean and is the author of
Police and Crime Control in Jamaica: Problems of Reforming
Ex-colonial Constabularies. Kingston: University of the West
Indies Press. He has also recently edited Understanding Crime
in Jamaica – New Challenges for Public Policy. University
of the West Indies Press, and co-edited two volumes –
Crime and Criminal Justice in the Caribbean, and Caribbean
Drugs: From Criminalization to Harm Reduction. He is currently
working on a book on homicide in the Caribbean.
