The
Hon. Karl Hendrickson was educated at DeCarteret Preparatory
School, Jamaica College and McGill University, Montreal.
He is involved in a number of entrepreneurial activities
such as manufacturing, agro industry, coffee farming, chicken
rearing and film making. He acquired a number of hotels in
Jamaica, including the Courtleigh Hotel, the Sunset Beach
Resort and Spa, the Ruins and the Knutsford Court Hotel. He
has also acquired a hotel in St. Lucia
Mr. Hendrickson has served on the boards of Air Jamaica,
Jamaica Public Service Company, Rural Electrification Programme,
Free Zone Council and the Jamaica Merchant Marine, a one time
national shipping line. He also served as Vice Chairman of
JAMPRO and was appointed as Ambassador Special Envoy of Jamaica.
He has received two national honours. They are The Order
of Jamaica in 2003 and The Order of Distinction in the senior
rank of Commander in 1997. He was installed into the Hall
of Fame of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica in 2003.
Mr. Hendrickson is an active Chairman of the National Continental
Corporation. An avid golfer, he is a member of the Liguanea
Club, Caymanas Country Club and the Constant Spring Golf Club.
Married to Nell Chin, a loyal spouse of already more than
half a century, they have four children.
