Dr
Henry Isaac Cloore Lowe is a scientist specializing in Medicinal
Chemistry. He has made major contributions in the fields of
Energy, Environment and Health Sciences. A former Permanent
Secretary of the Government of Jamaica, he established the
first Ministry of Science and Environment in the CARICOM region.
Dr Lowe served the College of Arts, Science and Technology
(now University of Technology) for fifteen (15) years moving
up to the position of Vice-President. He has served on several
international, public and private sector Boards such as Air
Jamaica and Airports Authority of Jamaica. He currently serves
several organizations including Blue Cross of Jamaica, International
Cannabis Research Institute and Eden Gardens – Wellness
Centre. He is an Advisory Committee Member, Centre for Minority
Research Training in Complementary and Alternative Medicine,
Morgan State University.
Dr Lowe has received several awards. They include Commander
of the Order of Distinction, (C.D.) 1982 for contribution
to science and technology nationally and regionally and the
UNEP Citation for contribution to Environmental Development
in Jamaica. He has produced over 150 technical publications
in major journals and has written several books including
“The Wellness Handbook – Your Guide to Healthy
Living”,
His watch words are “Once there is a will there is
a way.” He is married to Ludella Carmeta, Nee Foote
and has two (2) sons, David and Jason
