Submit Abstracts

The organizers of the Conference welcome proposals from researchers, educators, practitioners, and students conducting work on Caribbean populations and culture in the region and in the Diaspora. Individuals are invited to submit abstracts for panels, individual presentations and exhibitions in the theme and sub-themes listed below. Preference will be given, but is not limited to, submissions in the following sub-themes:

Conference Format:

Painting

The conference will include academic panels, round table discussions, plenary presentations with specially invited speakers and workshops. Presenters will also have the opportunity to submit their papers for consideration for publication in a special issue of Social and Economic Studies (SES). SES is the peer reviewed journal of the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies at UWI and has been publishing for the social sciences since 1949.

Guideline for Submissions:

Proposals for papers, panels and presentations should consist of an abstract(s) of no more than 250 words. A separate cover page consisting of the author information must accompany the abstract. The abstract itself should not contain any identifying marks as to authorship.

Abstracts can be submitted by email in a Microsoft Word or Word compatible attachment to the planning committee at chevnsconf@uwimona.edu.jm with “Chevannes Conference Abstract” in the subject line.
