Beverley Bryan, senior lecturer and head of the Department of Educational Studies, is director of the School of Education, UWI, Mona. She lived and worked in London for many years before returning to Jamaica in 1992. During her time in the UK , Dr Bryan worked in primary, secondary, tertiary and community education. Her research interests include literacy acquisition in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean ; cross-cultural issues in language teaching; and increasingly Diaspora studies.
