Dr Leith L. Dunn, Senior Lecturer/Head of the Centre for Gender and Development Studies Mona Campus Unit is a Jamaican social scientist (Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and Political Science; M.Sc. in Sociology and Social Psychology and a Bachelor's degree (Hons) in Languages and Social Sciences (UWI Mona).

 

Leith has worked with several development organizations including the United Nations Population Fund and has taught, researched and published in the field of social and economic development over the past 20 years. Public service: she is a Board member of the Shortwood Teachers' College and has served on a number of national and international policy related working groups. She has also served as a member of Commonwealth Observer Groups for the 2002 Presidential Elections in Zimbabwe and the 2006 Tripartite elections in Zambia .

 

Leith is married to Dr Hopeton Dunn, (UWI TPM Chair, MIOB) and they have two adult children
