Sandra Gift
Dr. Sandra Gift holds a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in French and Spanish Language and Literature from the University of the West Indies (UWI); a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies, accredited as a Master's Degree, from the University of Geneva in Switzerland and a Master of Philosophy Degree and Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Education ( with High Commendation ) from The UWI .

Dr. Gift has 24 years experience in the field of education nationally, regionally and internationally. Fourteen of these years have been devoted to supporting the work of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the promotion of quality education, through initiatives aimed at ensuring the relevance of school curricula .

Dr. Gift is currently Senior Programme Officer in the Quality Assurance Unit, Office of the Board for Undergraduate Studies (OBUS), the University of the West Indies . She has responsibility for the quality assurance reviews of academic programmes and for the promotion of a culture of quality at the St Augustine Campus, while working collaboratively with OBUS colleagues to conduct stakeholder surveys; address quality issues across the University and to preserve the regionality of The UWI, inter alia.

Dr. Gift is a member of the Trinidad and Tobago National Commission for UNESCO and chair of the Commision's Culture of Peace sector committee. She has a special interest in the pedagogy of the Transatlantic Trade in Enslaved Africans.
