STRATEGIC GOALS
1. Through innovative
, student-centred teaching and research, and
in collaboration with tertiary level institutions,
produce graduate teachers and administrators
for the early childhood, primary and secondary
school systems with critical and creative abilities
to transform learning through use of technology
and other means and enhance their own professional
growth.
2. To increase output in areas of critical need
through innovative projects and programmes.
3. To increase access to a more varied clientele
by offering a greater variety of programmes
through flexible delivery methods and collaboration
with stakeholders.
4. To improve the quality of all our programme
offerings and promote relevance, excellence
and cost –effectiveness through the use
of varied delivery modes.
5. To rationalise the postgraduate Diploma in
Education in the Graduate Studies structure
and mount initiatives for increasing student
intake .
6. To upgrade the quality of training and research
in Graduate Studies through initiatives which
include a re-focusing of the functions of the
Documentation Centre, the implementation of
a more flexible delivery system and use of strategies
to increase the rate of throughput.
7. To foster collegiality and intellectual leadership
through scholarly activity and the research
productivity of staff and students and through
professional development and outreach
8. To promote the visibility of the work of the Department
through improved public relations and use of media
