This course is designed to familiarise students with the trend in
which increasing provision and use is being made of multimedia technology
for the generation, storage and dissemination of information. It
provides a global overview of the various formats in which information
is distributed, with special emphasis on computer multimedia technology.
Media formats covered by the course include CD-ROMs and other optical
media, HTML documents on the Internet, photographic film, magnetic
tape and other materials. Special attention is paid to the evaluation,
administration, bibliographic control, acquisition and usage of
these materials.
Prerequisite: Passes in LS10A and LS10B.
