Course Description
(3 credits)
This course covers the modern School Library/Learning Resource Centre,
their role and function in the educational institution, the role
of the school librarian and the accompanying administrative responsibilities
as they relate to the various aspects of the school library programme.
Special attention is paid to integrating the school library into
the curriculum and the school librarian's relationship with the
principal, faculty and students.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the course students will:
1. be knowledgeable about the roles and functions of the School
Library.
2. be able to design a modern School.
3. effectively collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop
and implement information skill within the school.
4. to provide an acceptable library service in keeping with staff
and students needs.
5. become responsible library professionals
Prerequisite: Passes in LS 12A and LS 12B.
