LS63A—Bibliography
and Reference Methods and Materials
(3 credits)
Course Outline
This course introduces the students to the concept of bibliographic
control and to types of systematic bibliographies. It also familiarizes
them with the evaluation and use of other reference materials and
acquaints them with methods of book selection and the building of
effective library collections as well as reference work.
Instruction
Two hours lectures/seminars per week.
Evaluation
1. Course work consisting of one essay counting for 25% of the final
mark.
2. One 2 hour examination at the end of the semester counting for
75% of the final mark.
