Joint Summer Meeting of the
Society of Pidgin and Creole Linguistics (SPCL)
and the
Associação de Crioulos de Base Lexical Portuguesa e Espanhola (ACBLPE)
18-20 June 2007
Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Accommodation

Please bear in mind that June in Amsterdam is already high season, and you should organize your accommodation in good time. A limited number of rooms has been reserved for the period 17-20 June 2007 at the Hotel Residence Le Coin, located very close to the conference venue. Ideally participants should make arrangements amongst themselves with regard to sharing the twin rooms. The special conference rate (see below) will be valid for reservations made before 1 May 2007, subject to availability of rooms.

To make a reservation, contact the hotel directly at lecoin@holding.uva.nl (for further information on the hotel, go to http://www.lecoin.nl), and identify yourself by the conference name “The Society for Pidgin and Creole Languages” and “Umberto Ansaldo”, the name under which the rooms are currently booked. Payment will be made directly by you to the hotel.

The reduced University rate is the following (per room, per night, and including all taxes).
- single EUR 89.00,
- standard twin EUR 99.00
- large twin room EUR 114,00

Breakfast can be obtained for EUR 9,50 per person, per day.

Cancellation policy:
42 - 30 days before arrival: 35% of the total cost.
30 - 14 days before arrival: 60% of the total cost.
14 - 07 days before arrival: 85% of the total cost.
07 - 00 days before arrival: 100% of the total cost.

For other hotels please consult:

If you want to (and are able to) calculate the distance between the venue and a prospective hotel, please note that the venue will be the PCHoofthuis at the Spuistraat, to the west of the Royal Palace (at Dam Square).

If there is any information on streetcars having a stop near a prospective hotel,  note that most streetcars go downtown, towards Central Station, and so have a stop near the venue. This is at least true for the numbers/lines: 1, 2, 5, 9, 10, 14, 16, 17, 24 and 25.
