My academic interests generally fall within the field of Parallel Programming and High Performance Computer Architectures, particularly in relation to scientific applications.

My PhD involves the parallelization of a legacy sequential F77 code for an application in Atomic Physics.

The following is a simplified listing of my current research interests:

bullet

Parallel Programming

Object-Orientated software design of parallel scientific applications using Fortran 90.

Conversion of sequential scientific codes to optimized sequential and parallel versions.

Application of sequential and parallel linear algebra libraries in scientific applications.

Implementation of parallel codes on shared memory architectures using OpenMP.

bullet

High Performance Computer Architectures

               Distributed and Shared Memory architectures

               Beowulf Architectures

bulletE-Science and Grid Computing

Implementation of Grid applications and development of the Grid.
