In a ground-breaking achievement for Caribbean academia, Professor Simon Mitchell of the Department of Geography and Geology is the 2023 recipient of the 2023 W. Storrs Cole Memorial Research Award by The Geological Society of America (GSA). This marks the first time that a scholar from the Caribbean region has received this award.
