The Jamaican employment rates are calculated as the percentage of the employed labour force. The labour force is the total number of persons in Jamaica over the age of 14 who are willing and able to work.

Youth Employment Rate:

This rate applies to the employed labour force in the age group 14-19

Unemployment Rate:

The Jamaican unemployment rates are calculated as the percentage of the unemployed labour force. That is the percentage of the labour force who are willing, able to work and have been actively seeking employment but are not employed.

This rate applies to the unemployed labour force in the age group 14-19
