The Young Economists Association (YEA) is a student governed organization that promotes independent thought and professional skills development. This is done through activities conducted such as publications, discussion sessions, seminars, workshops and trips just to name a few.

The YEA liaisons with a number of organizations and individuals in both the private and public sectors locally, regionally and internationally in an effort to expose our young pedantic and exuberant minded members to the wealth of experiences and knowledge that are available.

The YEA is comprised of students of different academic disciplines, as the association recognizes that topical issues require a multi-dimensional approach.

Our constitution allows us the courtesy of extending membership to persons other than students. These honorary members, as they are called, will be asked to participate in mentoring students and guiding them for the world of work. This rich exchange will assist students in applying theory to practice (praxis), and at the same time, allow practitioners to engender an appreciation for theory and new instructions to research methodologies. This quid pro quo relationship can only enhance personal and ultimately national development.

The YEA is comprised of students who possess various skills and abilities that are pooled in order to accomplish various projects that are usually research based for private and public entities, as well as expanding our resource database.The YEA is an Association that The club harnesses these skills and develops upon them, thus, making our members rounded and experienced individuals as they embark on their professional careers.

Meetings are heldon Thursdays at 2pm, room to be announced. If there are changes, members or interested individuals can check their email accounts, the Department of Economics or the notice boards for information.
