The University of the West Indies will include a complete record of
a student’s course registrations for each semester/year and
the grades or symbols assigned to those courses. Transcripts can
be prepared for all programmes done such as doctorate, masters,
bachelors, diplomas and certificates. Transcripts can also be prepared
for one programme if more than one had been pursued.
How do I request a Transcript?
Option
1: Apply online
All you need for this option is a valid credit card. The system
is fast and secure and gives you a number of delivery and preparation
time options. Costs will be computed and presented to you based
on the options you select.
Option 2: Manual Method
This option involves downloading and completing the transcript equest
form which may be submitted by letter or fax. Our fax number is
1-876-977-1263.
Option 3: Telephone / Email
Initial telephone and email requests must be followed up by a written
request before processing can begin. Our email address is transcript@uwimona.edu.jm
What is the cost of a transcript?
- Ten United States Dollars (US$ 10) / Five Hundred Jamaican Dollars
(J$ 500) for first request. Processing time is usually a week
of the receipt of the application. Express preparation is available.
- Each additional copy when requested at the same time: Six United
States Dollars (US$ 6) / Three Hundred Jamaican
Express Preparation Costs
- Thirty Minutes Express preparation: Twenty United States Dollars(US$
20) or One Thousand Jamaican Dollars (J$ 1000)
- One Hour Express Preparation: Eighteen United States Dollars(US$
18) or Nine Hundred Jamaican Dollars (J$ 900)
- One Day at Fifteen United States Dollars(US$ 15) or Seven Hundred
and Fifty Jamaican Dollars (J$ 750).
Note Well: Express preparation is not available
to applicants falling in the following categories:
- Applicants who are not in good financial standing with the University
- First request from the Faculty of Education up to 1990
- First request from the Faculty of Medical Sciences.
How are Official transcripts sent?
Official transcripts are sent in sealed envelopes directly to the
address (es) you have provided. Official transcripts in sealed envelopes
can be collected by those requesting them.
Transcripts may be sent by fax overseas at a cost of Four Hundred
Jamaican Dollars (J$ 400.00) or Eight US Dollars (US$ 8.00) and
locally at a cost of Two Hundred Jamaican Dollars (J$ 200.00) or
Four US Dollars (US $4.00).
Express Delivery
Transcripts may be sent by Go Global (Jamaica) Limited to the United States, Canada and the Caribbean at a cost of
One Thousand Eight Hundred Jamaican Dollars (J$ 1800.00) or Twenty
Eight US Dollars (US$ 28.00) and to England Two Thousand Jamaican
Dollars (J$ 2000.00) or Thirty US Dollars (US$ 30.00).
A student copy may be requested but this will not bear the official
seal of the University. (The same cost applies)
NOTE: Transcript will not be issued if you are
not in good financial standing with the University.
Opening Hours
If you are requesting a transcript in person, the Transcript
Unit is open between 8:30am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday. The office
is closed on weekends and public holidays. Payment must be made
at the Cashier (Bursary) which is open between 9:00am and 3:00pm
daily or
by using the online transcript request system.
Payment by cheque, money order or bank draft should be made to
