Miss Nekishea Burke is an overall outstanding Administrative team member who continues to serve our University, Faculty and Department exceptionally well. She is well organized, detailed oriented and goes above and beyond to ensure success. Nekishea displays initiative and creativity in the execution of all her duties. She competently chairs the Staff Development Committee in the department that has continued to enable staff comradery and sense of team and family. Nekishea is instrumental in organizing staff in support of departmental and faculty initiatives such as: pre-Labour Day activities; Department Welcome Sessions for Students; Departmental Outreach activities; hosting of FST Staff Engagement activities and the participate of Physics Staff in FST training efforts. Miss Burke displays exceptional consistency in the implementation of strategic initiatives of the department including enabling timely access to funds to support research and consultancy efforts; activities supporting teaching and learning; staff development and maintenance of infrastructure. Miss Burke is a true unsung hero. As a result, she was awarded the Distinguished Staff Awards For Excellence in the Performance of Administrative Duties (MONATS) at the FST Annual Awards Ceremony hosted on November 9, 2023.
