BSc (SPECIAL) CHEMISTRY DEGREE
1. Candidates must satisfy the General Regulations for the degree of Bachelor of Science (except those relating to support courses) in addition to the following regulations.
2. The minimum standards for admission to the programme are as follows:
Completion of Part I of the BSc degree programme, including passes in:
(i) Introductory Chemistry (C10J and C10K) at the prescribed level.
(ii) Introductory Mathematics (M10A and M10B or M10C). Consideration will be given to those applicants with an appropriate grade in Preliminary Mathematics (M08B and M08C) or A-Level Mathematics or its equivalent.
(iii) Preliminary Physics (P04A and P04B) or the equivalent.
3. Admission to this programme is limited and candidates with good grades in C10J and C10K will be given preference.
4. To be eligible for the award of the BSc (Special) Chemistry degree, candidates must obtain:
(a) A total of 56 credits by successfully completing the following Part II courses:
(i) C20J, C21J, C31J, C22J, C32J, C23J, C33J
(ii) C30J and C31M
(iii) C32K and C32N
(iv) C33K and C33M
(v) Research project course C37J.
(vi) Research project course C37K or C37Q may be taken in place of any of the optional courses not offered.
(b) An additional eight credits selected from Part II courses in any Science subjects in the BSc degree programme approved by the Department.
