 ‘CONVERGENCE' The Jamaican Geographical Society (JGS) in conjunction with the Geological Society of Trinidad and Tobago, Mona Chapter (GSTT Mona Chapter) recently hosted a social, appropriately themed ‘Convergence' on Thursday 11 th September, 2008 on the Geography and Geology Department grounds. |

The
JGS extends heart-felt thanks to the members of GSTT Mona Chapter who
contributed tremendously in making the social very successful. We are
hoping to make such a social an annual event on the Society's calendar.

| ‘Convergence' was held in an effort to welcome and integrate the first year geography and geology undergraduates into the family-oriented atmosphere of the Department. |  |
The combination of good snacks, drinks, soup along with a vibrant sound system and several traditional games – cards, musical chairs, checkers, and dominoes- not only attracted the first year students, but second and third year students joined the fun. We also had a group of chemistry crashers who were eager to part-take in the afternoon's fun. |
