Dear Graduate,
You are receiving your University of the West Indies degree in a very special year, the year of our 60th Anniversary. UWI graduates are found at the forefront of every major business or industry in the Caribbean, propelling growth, development and innovation in spheres as diverse as agriculture, telecommunications, oil and gas industries, food and beverage, environmental management, entertainment, medicine and law. I expect that you will also contribute to the growth of our region as you start your professional careers and I congratulate you on your achievement.
Your UWI degree symbolizes a lot of hard work, as well as the acquisition of skill, knowledge and expertise. Your graduation will be celebrated not only by yourself, but by your family, friends and other supporters. I too am proud of your success and extend to you a hearty “Welcome” as you now entered officially into the UWI Alumni Family.
