Duties
and Responsibilities of the Resident Advisors
• Serving as a link between student services
manager and student
• Acting for student services manager in his/her absence-
if so agreed
• Having interaction with students and fostering interaction
as well as a sense of community among members of particular
blocks
• Counseling and assisting with problem solving
• Advising and being a source of information for students
• Supporting Hall activities and encouraging students
to do so
• Performing administrative –type duties assigned
by the student services manager
• Organizing Hall Functions
• Granting permission to students to make trunk and
overseas phone calls
• Assisting as resource in protocol, social know-how
and ethics
• Serving as advisors to Hall Committee
• Liaising with the wider community
• Any other related duties as may be assigned by the
student services manager.
• Having responsibility in specific areas such as:
(a) Sports
(b) Entertainment
(c) Debates
(d) Cultural Activities
(e) Hall Beautification
(f) Security.
