What does a Peer Counsellor do?

  • Help other students to help themselves through lay counselling and practical support
  • Gives students an opportunity to talk about their educational and personal/social concerns
  • Promotes mental health through organized programmes on topics relevant to students.
  • Helps students make better use of the resources of various agencies on and around campus
  • Facilitates communication between students and administration
  • Acts as a possible channel of referral to the University Counselling Service
  • Maintains student confidences.
