Mrs Sharon Williams Brown
is a full-time counsellor at the University Health Centre of the University
of the West Indies, where she counsels students, staff and staff dependents.
She is also the co-ordinator of the Peer Counselling Programme at
the UWI.
She holds a Bachelor
of Science degree and Diploma in Education from the University of
the West Indies and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology
from Wheaton College, Illinois in the USA.
She has presented papers at overseas conferences and has served
on a number of committees at the UWI and other institutions. She
currently serves as a member of the facilitation team for UWI Customer
Service training.
Mrs Williams Brown is a member of the Caribbean Tertiary Level
Personnel Association executive, having twice served as their president.
She is training coordinator for the Alliance of Counsellors and
Therapists – a group whose activities involve organizing of
workshops for mental health professionals in Jamaica.
She is a member of several other professional organisations, namely:
The American College Personnel Association, American Counseling
Association, Jamaica Psychological Society, United States
of America Transactional Analysis Association and International
Association of Marriage and Family Counselors.
