| This group is offered
in Semester I and is designed to assist mature students who
are re-entering the academic environment, adjust to the demands
of their multiple roles. The group will meet bimonthly. Pre-registration
with the Counselling Unit is necessary to join this group. New
members can join up to session three. Queries can be directed

Postgraduate
Support Group

This group is for
those who are working on their dissertations at the Masters
or Doctoral levels. The group will meet regularly throughout
the academic year and will provide different levels of support
e.g.
- information sharing about resources such as internet/library
research services and funding
- skill building in areas such as writing
- sharing and feedback to support those who are going through
burn-out, writer’s block, stagnation or any
other issues around their dissertation.
The group will meet on Thursday afternoons and an evening
session for those unable to come on Thursday is possible
depending on the need.
Pre-registration with the Counselling Unit is necessary
to join this group. This group is open for students
to join at any point.

Grief Support
Group

This group is usually offered in Semester II, but can
be done in Semester I if the need arises This group is
designed to provide support for those members of the UWI
community (staff and students) who have experienced loss
of a family member or friend. The group provides a supportive
environment in which to deal with the emotions and changes
resulting from the death of someone close to you. Pre-registration
with the Counselling Unit is necessary to join this group
This group meets weekly, lasts for six sessions and takes
only a limited number of persons. No new members are allowed
in the group after Week Two.
