  Class Limits
Students are warned that limits have to be placed on registration for most History courses. Those who seek to enter a course after the limit has been reached are advised to register for another course but may be placed on a waiting list. Final acceptances should be announced by the Department by the end of registration week

Instruction
Teaching in most history courses consists of two lectures per week and one tutorial. Some courses include field trips. The lecturer responsible for each course will formally advise you of the arrangements for that course at the beginning of the semester.

Evaluation
Assessment of performance will be based on a combination of elements, including coursework (normally essays and in course tests) and a final examination of 2 hours duration. The precise combination of elements and their relative values for each course will be made known by the lecturer at the beginning of the semester. Read these instructions carefully and ensure that you submit all pieces of work required and sit all tests and examinations. It is your responsibility to meet deadlines. For students registered prior to 2003-04, the marking scheme used for coursework and the final examination is as follows:

N.B. In order to pass any course, candidates must obtain C/40 or better on at least one question in the final exam.

GRADE POINT AVERAGE SYSTEM (GPA)  

The GPA will apply to all students registered as of the 2003/2004 academic year.
