STAFF AND PLACEMENT UNIT

Our goal is to assist departments, units and centers with the search, the selection and the retention of appropriately qualified staff in order to promote quality education and research.

The objectives of this Unit are inter alia:

• To make the University of the West Indies an employer of choice
• To ensure that the selection process for employees is rigorous enough to obtain the best and brightest minds for service to the Mona Campus.

The Staffing and Placement unit of the Human Resource Division provides recruiting and employment related services on the University of the West Indies Mona campus. This unit monitors online campus job opportunities on the University’s official job posting web site, ensuring that postings are updated regularly.

Among other things, the Unit also provides the following services:

• Identifies sources for recruiting and channels for advertising job opportunities and communicating them to faculties, departments, units and centers.
• Assists and advises departments in meeting short-term and long-term staffing needs.
• Monitors departments, units and centers to ensure compliance with university HR policies and procedures with respect to recruitment and employment.
