How to Apply for Study Abroad
Study Abroad (Incoming Students)
Step 1
Please visit our faculty website to select your course(s). Applicants are not allowed to select more than five (5) courses per semester under this category of registration.
Step 2
download and complete the relevant application form:

The following items must be submitted with the completed application form:
- Birth certificate or passport
- An up-to-date official transcript from your home university
- A letter of approval from your Study Abroad Advisor
- Application processing fee of US$30 (non-refundable application processing fee must be forwarded by bank draft made payable to the University of the West Indies)

The completed application form should be sent via your university's International Student Office/Study Abroad Advisor to: p>

Application deadlines
Applications should be submitted by
- March 1 for Semester 1 (Sep-Dec) or an academic year
- October 1 for Semester 2 (Jan-Apr)
Study Abroad (Outgoing Students)
Step 1
Visit the International Student Office Coordinator to discuss the options that are available to UWI students desirous of studying overseas.
Step 2
Browse the websites of the university to obtain information on programmes relating to your specific areas of study
Step 3
Download from the selected university information on the desired courses relating to your current programme of studies along with the requisite application form.
Step 4
Consult your Head(s) of Department and Dean of Faculty/ Dean’s nominee, concerning the proposed course of study overseas.
Step 5
Fill out application form(s) in consultation with the Head(s) of Department. You must provide outlines for the courses you wish to pursue.
Step 6
Submit completed application forms with supporting statement to the International Student Office.
Step 7
Maintain contact with the International Student Office Coordinator about progress of the application.
