1. General
This course is taught in Semester II of Year II of the LL.B. degree
programme.
2. Course Objective
This course builds on the knowledge conveyed in Law of Property I
and
introduces the student to new concepts in land law.
3. Course Content
This course will deal with the following topics:
i. Leases and Licences
ii. Mortgages
iii. Incorporated Hereditaments
iv. Limitation and Prescription
v. Registration
vi. Social Control of Land

vii. Testamentary Disposition of Real Property
4. Method of Teaching
This course will be taught by way of two lectures and one tutorial
per week.
Each lecture will be of one hour duration and the tutorial will also
be of one hour
duration.
5. Method of Assessment
This course will be assessed by way of a two-hour final examination
at the end
of the Semester. Students will be required to answer three questions
selected
from a total of six questions. The examination question paper may
be divided
into two parts with students being required to answer one question
from each
part of the paper
