- The call number is a unique code assigned to each item in the Library.
It
- identifies the item in the collection
- helps you locate the item on the shelves
- serves to group books together according to subject
- Searching by call number is like searching by subject terms. If you’ve
found an item that is useful, you can use its call number to find other
related items.
- Searching by call number on the OPAC virtually allows you to browse the
shelves from your computer.
