Electronic databases

  • Centre for Caribbean Health Database of African-Caribbean Health Issues. - To increase the awareness of healthcare professionals and the community by facilitiating access to expertise. This computerised database allows
    their field of expertise. It encloses details of individuals, voluntary sector groups, local community projects and other organisations who have experience working specifically with the African-Caribbean population in the UK or who work with black ethnic minority groups or those who conduct health research in this area.
  • CHID (Combined Health Information Database– “CHID is a bibliographic database produced by health-related agencies of the Federal Government. This database provides titles, abstracts, and availability information for health information and health education resources.”

Electronic Journals

Many journals in this field, (some of which provide full text), are available from EBSCO HOST and ProQuest databases. You can access these from the library's home page (or above) by selecting databases from the menu. To find relevant journals in Ebsco Host click on the publications tab, and type in key words such as "obstetrics or gynecology" in the Browse publications box. Remember to select the b tab, and type in your key words.
