Scholarships
The University provides a few scholarships for students achieving First Class Honours in their BSc degrees who wish to apply for M.Phil./Ph.D. programmes. Scholarship application details can be found here.
Research Grants
Students and/or supervisors can apply to the Office of Graduate Studies and Research for funding for specific research items, subject to stringent rules. Funding for projects may also be obtained from external sources, also subject to certain constraints and criteria.
Departmental Awards
Financial support in the form of research studentships (departmental awards) is provided by the University, through the Faculty, to enable students to pursue research in specific areas. Students receive awards based on recommendations from the department. Under this award, they are required to act as demonstrators, assisting with tutorials, practical classes, and field classes. In return for this, their fees for the year are largely waived and they receive a stipend every three months.
