Dr. Webber is a marine ecologist whose research has focused on Zooplankton: their community structure and distribution, and their use as indicators of water quality. She has also conducted studies on mangrove habitats including an assessment of their biodiversity and the evaluation and development of appropriate of water quality indices. Recently she completed work on the sponges of the Port Royal mangroves, identifying a new species in the process. Her current research involves conducting an Ecological assessment of the Morant Wetlands.
