A Professor of Parasitology, Dr. Robinson combines various diagnostic techniques with
the results of electron micrographs and cytochemistry to provide novel information on
infectious diseases in Jamaica. Over the years, he has investigated the transmission
of Angiostrongylus cantonensis to humans as well as the presence of the infection in
wild rats and snails. He was also involved in the study of infection in red tilapia,
intestinal helminths in dogs in the Kingston Metropolitan Area with an emphasis on
Ancylostoma sp. and the plant compound, Eryngial, as an effective treatment against
human Strongyloides stercoralis infection.
