Year II Students 2011/2012

The Department of Life Sciences offers a revised curriculum structure to new and returning students for the 2011/2012 academic year. The Level 2 courses to be delivered in Life Sciences during the coming academic year will all be new, with the exception of the Diving Technology for Aquatic Scientists course.

New Level II Students

Students starting the Level II Programme in 2011/12 will be allowed to select the new majors although only the Level 2 courses are currently available.

Completing Level II Students

There may be several students registering in 2011/12 with varying levels of completion of the pre-2011 Life Sciences Year 2 courses:

  • Students who need to repeat old Year 2 courses,
  • Single major Life Sciences students who need 8 credits of Year 2 courses or
  • Double major Life Sciences students who need 16 credits of Year 2 courses.
If you fall into any of the above categories, please see these guidelines.

Students with less than 8 credits of old Level 2 courses completed as of the end of the 2010/11 academic year must pursue the new Life Sciences majors. Students with 16 or more of the pre-2011 Level 2 courses must complete the pre-2011 Life Sciences majors. Please note that students with a pass in the old Year 2 course will NOT be allowed to register for the new Year 2 equivalent; they are anti-requisites.
