Undergraduate Degrees


 

General Regulations

(1) Requirements for the Award of a Degree*

In all cases a degree is granted for successful completion of courses such that the student has obtained at minimum the following:

Level I Compulsory                   24 credits
Level II and Level III                  60 credits
Level I - III (Additional)                8 credits
Foundation courses                   9 credits
Total                                           101 credits

(2) Single, Double and Joint Majors

A single major may be obtained by securing 32 credits in Level II and Level III courses from a single subject area e.g. Botany, Chemistry or Zoology.

A double major may similarly be obtained by securing 64 credits in Level II and Level III courses from a single subject e.g. Zoology or Botany.

By correctly choosing courses, the student may obtain a degree with two majors jointly held in two subject areas. This constitutes a joint major. Examples are Botany and Chemistry, Zoology and Biochemistry, Zoology and Botany.
