Lecturer in Charge: Dr Victor Chang [Room 55 – New Arts Block] This course will examine the transition and evolution of English poetry from the late 19 th century to the poetry of the 20 th century and will consist of an in-depth examination of the work of several poets whose work is considered representative of Modern British and American poetry in terms of their techniques, themes, and concerns. This semester the focus will be on the work of T.S. Eliot and W.B. Yeats. Prerequisite: E10A and one level II poetry course 1 term paper (2,500 words) 30% Final 2-hour exam (2 answers) 60% Prescribed Texts: Eliot, T.S.
