The Internet and other information and communication technologies
can
enable individuals and groups to participate more effectively
in the
social, economic and democratic processes in the Caribbean.
This paper
considers the opportunities offered by these technologies,
and their
use in enhancing access to information, education, democratic
participation in civic governance and productivity.
The measures for bridging the Digital Divide are also examined
with a
view to identifying the areas in which information and
communication
technologies are being employed to enhance opportunities
for women in
decision-making in the Caribbean |
