UARMP Functional Components
|
The Functional components of the UARMP
are as follows:
- Operation of Campus central registries;
- Survey, review and analysis of records for records appraisal
and scheduling;
- Development and ongoing implementation of approved records
retention and disposition authorities;
- Operation of a records centre on each Campus to store and service
inactive and closed records;
- Development and operation of an automated database management
system in a networked environment to document, support and streamline
a multiplicity of related archives and records management programme
functions and services;
- Provision of training sessions, seminars and workshops to upgrade
skills and abilities and improve the proficiency of staff engaged
in records management activities
- Expansion of University-wide standardization of records management
practices;
- Provision of advisory and consultative services in the planning,
development and implementation of systems, programmes or projects
that have immediate and long term archival and records management
implications or consequences;
- Operation of an archives on each Campus;
- Development of contacts, liaison and cooperation with the regional
archives and records management community;
- Monitoring, auditing and evaluation of programme elements and
results to ascertain whether goals and objectives are being met;
