The Registry Records Services manages the current records
of the central administrative units.
Effective record management consists of controlling records
from their creation through to their final disposition. This
movement from creation to final disposition known as the records’
life cycle consists of three stages active, semi-active and
inactive.
Easy and reliable retrieval is a key goal in the management
of current records.

Campus
Records Office
The Campus Records Office provides advisory
services to all offices that operates a decentralized filing
system.
In order for the University to achieve maximum effectiveness
and efficiency in the use of information resources all departments,
faculties and administrative offices must maintain consistent
standards in the management of records.|

The
UWI Records Centre
The UWI Records Centre manages the inactive
records for all offices located on the Mona Campus.
This section serves as a temporary and low-cost
storage facility for the semi-active and closed records
of the University of the West Indies.
It is an intermediary point of storage between the
various offices and departments of the University and the
Archives.

Archives
The
Archives houses the permanent records of
the University and provides a research and
reference facility.
