In this course students will be able to acquire knowledge of computer, how
the computer affects teaching and learning.
It will also enable them to use the computer as a tool for manipulation of
text, numbers and graphics;
creating presentations; publishing; and information transfer.

A compulsory remedial course for those persons who failed the English Proficiency
Test.
ED25D - Developing Foreign Language
Skills
This course is designed to upgrade the teaching skills of graduates of Teachers’ Colleges
and to prepare pre-trained
teachers to function effectively in the secondary school. These teachers need
to be aware of current trends in foreign
language pedagogy and to see how this impact on objectives of teaching and
learning. Through the activities provided in the
course, the students will gain experience in putting these new ideas into practice
and will be better able to cope with multi-level
groups and gender differences.
S111 - Spanish Language I [Parts
1 and 2]
This course aims to develop students’ skills to the point where they
can write about a variety of topics with significant precision;
discuss concrete topics relating to particular interests and special fields
of competence with reasonable level of pronunciation;
understand the main ideas of most speech in standard Spanish and follow essential
points of authentic discourse in areas
of special interest or knowledge. In addition, students completing this course
will have had the opportunity to increase
their global awareness and knowledge of contemporary societies where the language
is spoken.
ED25C - Pedagogical Developments
in Foreign Language Education
Foreign language students will benefit from studying the development of the
thrust towards the Communicative Approach
in foreign language teaching/learning. Since many of the traditional methods
of teaching still survive and are being used in
schools, it is important for students to be able to recognize these methods,
identify their weaknesses and come to see
the value and advantages of a communicative approach to foreign language teaching/learning.
