The objectives include: To provide an introduction to International Trade and Theory; and to develop a critical awareness of International Trade Policy with special reference to the less developed countries.

 The course outlines: The Law of Comparative Advantage, The Basic Geometry of the Gains from Trade, The Heckscher-Ohlin Theory, New Trade Theories, Economic Growth and International Trade, The Theory of Tariffs, Non-Tariff Trade Barriers, Economic Integration, International Trade and Economic Development, The World Trade Organization.
