M Ed. Online

In this modality, Masters' courses are taught during a four-week period in the summer and also on-line during both semesters of the academic year. Students can complete the Masters Programme over a two-year period by taking two courses each summer and one or two courses online per semester.

With this new modality, U.W.I. can more appropriately respond to the personal, national, and regional development needs for trained personnel in schools, tertiary institutions, Ministry of Education and other organizations.

Summer Component
Two courses will be offered during the sum mer depending on enrolment. The courses will run concurrently and will begin July and end in August. This component of the programme is face-to-face.

COST: SUMMER AND ON-LINE M.ED.
The Summer and On-line M.Ed. has been developed as a self-financing programme that does not benefit from the subsidies afforde June 7, 2007 odality. The costs involved therefore are the real costs of mounting this Programme. The Overall Programme cost is US$5000.

Payment, however, will be on a summer or semester basis related to the number of courses for which the student is registered. Each course will cost US$500. This is inclusive of all Uni-
versity fees and also of a cost of one book for each of the taught courses, to a maximum of US$50 per book per course.

PhD Programmes

The PhD Degree is awarded soley on the basis of a thesis that should be a record of independent research into an original problem showing an original approach to the problem or an original approach to a problem previously studied. An oral examination of the dissertation is required.

Candidates are required to register every year until the thesis is completed. Candidates assume all the responsibilities of seeing that all the requirements are met. A thesis or project may be rejected if University regulations in the thesis guide are not kept. When the candidate and the supervisor(s) are satisfied that the thesis/project is nearing completion, at least three months before the final competition, application should be made for examination.
